Chappy 7- The joy of talking….

The world is more connected today than ever before. Today we have mobile phones, internet, video calls. We can talk to people at another end of this planet in real time. Gone are the days of trunk calls.

The idea of communication via technology originated with the need to be in touch despite distances. The need for human touch and connections.

According to Cambridge dictionary, to Talk and to Speak mean different things.  ‘Speak usually only focuses on the person who is producing the words.’ Where as..’Talk focuses on a speaker and at least one listener, and can mean , have a conversation’.

A greater part of being connected comes with talking to each other. Being able to converse with people can act as a good mood booster and confidence perker. Genuine conversations with no two faced meanings can solve most of our day to day worries.

Being completely present with one another, giving your undivided attention is nothing short of a gift. It’s precious and a rare today. We should be generous and give this gift to people we meet every day. And be equally thankful when bestowed with it.

I believe free flow of words between friends and family can have a therapeutic effect. It is nothing less than chicken soup for soul. When we engage in deep conversations free of judgement and pretension, our joys double up and our worries shift from a lone shoulder to share.

Our ancestors couldn’t agree more.
They knew the importance of social interactions and social networks ( not the kind we know… they knew the real social networking… being present in the moment). If someone had told them that in future people would pay to be heard, they would not have believed it. Disputes and marital problems were once solved by mere discussion s and listening to both the parties.

Talking freely is extremely underrated.
When we talk to one another we not only share our worlds, we also peep into other’s, that gives us perspective. It helps us understand one another and bonds healthy as ever arise from such rendezvous.

If only we heard each other, the way we want to be heard. We could make so much out of relationships in our lives.

Do you have someone in your life that makes Talking a wonderful experience every time?
