Most of us are intertwined in our day-to-day life chores, so much so that we have no time to even pause and absorb the experience of life itself, ‘running on a hamster wheel’ they say. There is so much pressure to perform. Pressure from our own selves, from family or near- dear ones, from society, […]Life is Time
Have you ever been to a place that changes your life for good. or any journey to a distant land that makes you a different person.
The recent event of Chinese Incursions in Ladakh was major reason for political tension. I can’t imagine India without LEH LADAKH. to me it is a precious piece of heaven on earth. . it also brought some old memories back
A few years ago I Visited Leh & Ladakh . My first encounter with Leh & Ladakh began when i was in college. we had a detailed chapter on it in english class. being science students most would skip the english class without second thought. Not many would sit through the literature classes. I loved literature classes.
Each class told stories from different culture and different people. Some real and some fiction. There was this particular chapter written from perspective of a traveller.the writer went in detail about Ladakh and Leh .itsbeauty , its terrains and clean water.the hard working locals and change in life style of the people with rise in tourism. the positive and negative of tourism.
this kept me wondering about ladakh . for years i had been wanting to visit it. something always came up. and years followed by years i kept on postponing my trip to this mystical land.Few Years later, the movie 3 IDIOTS was released ( a bollywood movie partly based in ladakh ) . The film only made me want to see it more desperately. The anticipation kept building.
A legendary Lemon was sprung on my face. I had to face it. I Didn’t deserve to be in that mess, but life never goes as planned. and good things don’t always happen to good people (or so I thought. now when i look back i know. those were rough days but life has been never better. if things had turned out normal , i would have been ok with average life and never reached this far )
Anyway, that is exactly when i said ‘I’m Going To Ladakh!”. Going to ladakh is no joke.it is a long distance away and you need multiple flights just to reach the place, the travel and stay expenses are extra. i looked in to my accounts and realised i hadnt much left.I decided to go with the flow and i spent ALMOST ALL the savings i had left in bank and went on this trip.
so i decided to make a glass of lemonade and sip it on my way to Ladakh! Today when I look back . it was worth every Rupee. the trip was more of spiritual journey to me.somehow the endless blue skies, the crisp air , Golden monasteries, high peaks, tough yet smiling faces of Ladakhis and gleaming streams of water touched my heart and gave me hope.
i realised that no matter how rough life gets , there is life beyond that. you just have to take a step back and look at it from a different perspective. despite major losses . life is about coming around.you fall , yourise, you walk , you run, may be few more falls , anda few more rises.it’s all about rising back. there is so much beauty in life and world is full of amazing opportunities, that a few bad people and a few unlucky days are not an enough reason to feel hopeless.there is always hope !
you have to pick yourself up, and say”so what?” and get back on your feet again. it is all about making lemonade out of lemons.

Well the first few weeks I really didn’t know what to do with all this time and staying home . The roads were empty and restaurants and cafes closed. No people on the streets, even on weekends. It was a strange feeling initially.
It felt like a scene from a SCI FI movie. I might as well say I have wasted the first few weeks in unpreparedness. slowly I Jumped Into attending webinars, then reading books and then cooking at home instead of going out . I recently read books like JANE EYRE, 1984, THE LEAN STARTUP, MY TALL GREEN FRIENDS and THE STARBUCKS EXPERIENCE . I am currently reading Hafsah Faizal’s ‘WE HUNT THE FLAME’ .
Slowly I am adjusting to this Lockdown. I’m also going back to painting again! And ofcourse Binge watching series . I’m Currently hooked to SCHITT’S CREEK
Coming To The Reason Why we are in this lock down . COVID19! A new strain of virus that didn’t even have a name 6 months ago. It’s scary how a microorganism that small, can bring this world to a halt.
The Best way to protect yourself and everybody around you is through social distancing. Respect and follow the guidelines shared by World Health Organization(WHO). Health care frontliners , the defence army, police, delivery guys, sanitation department andmany hidden heroes are working really hard to win over this situation.let us help them by not increasing their workloads unnecessarily . Stay home as much as you can.
By being reckless and not sticking to these guidelines we are risking other’s lives too.
Life if too precious to be thrown around like that.
Take care of each other . More so in the present circumstances. Helping one another and being kind is the key here.
Invest your time in creative things and learning something new. Are there hobbies you also wanted to get back to? How are you making the most of this lockdown ?
After he was through laughing he said “………Get through your fears. And the world will open up.
Give in to your fears and your world will get smaller every year”.

“Some women as soon as they hear no, back down fast.
They think now I have gone too far or I don’t want this to turn into a conflict.Women often have the same response to low counter offers.
‘They have asked for a lot, the other negotiator offers much less’ and they think ‘OK that will be fine I don’t want to fight about it.’
Remember, not backing down is not the same as starting a fight.” Linda Babcock and Sara Laschever’s Ask for it. An Amazing book on negotiation skill development.
A few years ago the phrase spiritual growth or soulful living wouldn’t get many head turns.
I can still recollect moments when people would scorn at such phrases.
It was condidered uncool and old fashioned to talk about spirituality. As though spiritual growth is something bad.
But today things are very different. You see suddenly everybody wants to be a spiritual guru in a way a motivational coach.
The truth is that all greatness in us stems from spirituality.
If you arent spiritually inclined and deeply rooted a sudden hurricane of bad times will wash you away in a few hours.
Relying on your financial status for your inner value is unwise.
Especially now, in the times of most uncertainty where lay offs are rampant , inflation is rising and businesses doom every other day.
Times are changing and for the good of all of human kind, we have begun to realise how important is the word Spirituality.
The words Spirituality and Religion are related but not the same. Irrespective of your religion and where you are on the belief scale, you must believe in the spiritual existance , of you and every body .
It’s very important to have a spiritual guide. A Guru that takes your hand and leads on the path. It can get confusing when you take up the world on your own while still tender spiritually.
Then again finding a good guru is no joke isn’t it ? How then will you know if this is your Guru?
I apply a simple formula in my life when at cross roads-“You will never know until you try”.
So applies in my spiritual journey.
Even if you fail to find the right Guru at first you will eventually meet him/her . Life will take you to the right teacher. As long as your intentions are good and divine.
Try to find deeper meaning in life . Respect life, your’s and evrbody’s around you. Value your birth into this world. Try to keep yourself grounded by meditating. Peace is inside you. That is where lies your spiritual wealth, in YOU.
My spiritual journey has been my greatest discovery. I hope you all find it too. Wishing you a marvelous journey.
‘Wealth lures wealth as tame elephants the wild ;
wealth cannot be earned by wishful thinking ;
there can be no trade without wealth .
the man who lets the wealth that Fortune showers on him ,
sit idle , finds no happiness in this world,
nor in the next. what is he then?
A confounded fool performing a watchman’s role” says Vardhaman.
The above phrase stresses on how immense wealth can perish when constantly exploited , whereas even moderate wealth can magnify if added constantly. From the collection of the oldest known indian tales, Visnu Sarma’s ‘The Panchatantra’ (200 BC) also known as ‘The Five Treatises’ in english.‘
“Forgetting is actually good for you , according to new research. When your brain retrieves a half forgotten memory, it is working very hard and so when you review your work , you are making very strong connections. .. .. The dendrites are right there… Some connections have faded, but when they come back on, they will be much much stronger.” Khurshed Batliwala and Dinesh Godke’s book for students ‘Ready Study Go’
